Alright boys opinions and info needed..I want to build my 77 LTD II into a solid street performer, not a barn burner, but something i can run down the strip and not get laughed at...Heres what im thinking..
Headers
Edelbrock intake/Edelbrock 650 carb
Mild cam
GT40 heads
Early timing set
and...
Thats what i thought...Im no diesel mechanic, but they said something about a splined shaft on the bottom of the pump that the splines were stripped off?? Allowing it to catch sometimes, othertimes not??
Honestly, theres no point in it. The 70s frame, suspension, and axles are stouter then any 90s or even early 00 s 1/2 ton.Youd be better off just swapping a live axle in front and getting a trans/tcase for yours.
I helped my dad put a radiator in his 01 town and country, holy shit, we had to litrally pull the whole damn front end off.By some christ like miracle though the rest of the van has stayed glued togther after 240k hard miles hauling heavy $$$ music/carpet cleaning equipment down rutted dirt roads.
I keep reading/hearing the the newer 460s are known for plugs seizing in the head, breaking off, then causing all kinds of issues. How common is this? Or is it like any engine where they dont get changed then get stuck.Just wondering what i may be in for first tune up time...
