Hey guys, I have a buddy that is giving me a 94 explorer, 4.0L, a4ld, 2wd. The problem is the trans. He said its burnt up. I dont know yet, have not looked at it. My question is, What are yalls opions on the A4ld trans and if i have to replace the trans is there another one i can replace it with...

Thats one thing i was going to say. Motorcraft has a cetane booster that is highly recommened to use on all diesels, it is supposed to help with the fuel mileage by at least 1-2mpgs and it bumps the cetane up to where ford recommends it @ if used with every tank and it keeps the egr system...

sounds like what i was thinking about. i am going to look at it when i get a chance. Not sure if there is fuild getting burnt or if the valve is just bad. But gonna take a look at it. Probley will just buy one and when i get to look at the truck i will just put the new one on it.

i got the flywheel installed yesterday, and put the starter in it. it works great now. After driving it around found that when in drive it dont shift gears. I can put in manual 1 and shift to 2 and it does have both of those gears, but when i go to D it dont change, just starts slipping. Any...

we got in 2 crates of the exact same tools. I am pretty sure someone messed up somewhere. But we have 2 sets of the same tools in our shop that they just dropped of the other day. And might i add, I am the only Diesel Tech we have.... small shop, in horse country, all we see are super dutys...
