Hey guys, i a question, will heads from a fi. 351 1994, work on a carb. pre smog 351w block? found a cheap set of 94' heads and know someone who needs a set for a 78' bronco. Let me know if they will work. Thanks

They will bolt right on.

I would post up the CC and valve size differences between the years of 351 Windsor heads, but I lost all that info when my computer crashed.

That chart doesn't show the older heads but any motor between 1976 and 1984 is considered a smog era motor and all these have heads with oversized combustion chambers to lower compression. So late model heads will actually increase CR on that '78 and improve power and milage as a result.

One problem though, not sure if it applies to the Windsors as much as the 460's, but the injected heads on the 460's will not accept carbed intakes.

No that problem does not apply to small block fords.

you need to put pipe plugs in the back of the heads where the air pump tube goes, otherwise heads will be fine
