At least we are cautious with his money.
Missed that one. Oh wait,I didn't read his description.Unless the Dana 60 has been transplanted, the rear end would be a Ford 9" on the rear of an F-150.
Kens going to have a hard time finding a truck that time and pride were put into like his first one.I think if it were up to us...Ken would never be able to buy another truck...haha. But I'm hoping these are the answers he's looking for when he posts, so he doesn't drop the coin in a sinking ship.
Now I'm just getting nit picky...but these are the MINOR details I would expect with a 10k truck...new racetrack trim, I hate old nasty trim on an otherwise pristine truck...you just dropped god knows how much money, spend the extra $1500. Beyond that, something doesn't look right with the bed to cab gap to me...so I'd wanna thoroughly inspect the frame. Again, nit picky...but get the right color door cups in there for 10k. And the only other small detail that bugs me are the hood hinges need fixing/alignment/replacement.
Oh yeah...and anybody with a green truck...ask them how easy it finding replacement parts...then ask them what kinda premium they pay when they do find green interior parts.
For the money...this truck has waaaaaaaaay more appeal to me. It's not marketed as a pristine truck, it is a driver, and a decent price for the shape. The lariat stuffs has more of a draw to me. Only hang up...VIN says that's a 351M truck with the H code...he says a 400 crate engine from Ford (I was unaware Ford did 335 series crate engines anymore).
That is a nice truck. Along with what Ben said, why couldn't they spend $30 for the negative cable on the battery. That still doesn't detract from how nice the truck is though.
I've always liked that green. In fact I painted that jeep I had near that color. Tan interior stuff goes great with it if you can't find green
I agree with Ben on the bed, the passenger side seems lifted. The trim is soso. Missing trim on the tail gate. The pictures were taken on a over cast day and came out dark. (Hides a lot ).Looks like some of the chrome is coming off the head light bezels. Whoops, looks like a drip in the paint just aft of the grill surround, left fender. Cracked black plastic trim insert at the drivers door hinge area. That looks like the original floor mat, I wonder how much rust is on the floor. There's signs of rust on the drivers side kick panel. And door jamb. I was surprised at how much rust was on my floor when I took out the mat. There seems to be some black over spray on the thresholds , like the rockers were sprayed black. But the pictures are so dark that I can't see them. Nice looking truck. I'd like to see this one in person and take a gander underneath, since there's no pictures.
That brown truck is just as Ben said, "a driver". I can't tell is that a two tone brown paint job or is the hood a lighter shade. Maybe just the way the sun is reflecting. Tail gate is beat all to hell. Bed liner is faded and peeling. I think I had a CB antenna mounted just like that years ago. Looks like the drivers door and front fender have been side swiped by a branch or something. Dents in the grill surround on the passenger side between the head light and fender. I like that style wheel.

I just fell in love. Light Brown metallic Dentsides and 1980-1981 trucks are sexy when they're polished up.
YES SIR.....PLEASE DON'T STOP NIT PICKING.....we have time and who knows, maybe Scott will have another one done in a few years and I'll just buy that one!
So help me God...if you outbid me on his 79 350...I WILL kick a puppy.
Sig material.
Doug and fellas......what about this baby for baby #2:
It's not as showy, but I think it has everything we want.....it's not a 73-77 like mine, but still:

Ken says he wants us to be picky.
So this one which ended last week at $8000 (a bit more than wifey and I wanted to spend and drive it back from the west coast) is back on ebay.....so if the price is around $6-6500, we think we might go for it....any more thoughts? I like it so far and have re-read some of the issues when I first posted last week....but for $6k, we don't think we can go too wrong. We can put $2k into it if we wanted to make it a little more special or showy. If it goes over, then we'll move on! It's already up to $4k so maybe a mute point. But I still like it.

Then again, we'd be willing to pay $15-20k+ for Scott's!
I'd love to put this bed on a 4x4 dually . I've got toooooo many projects already.

Ken,
There are times when something just doesn't feel right, and this one doesn't.
The "ignorance is bliss" statement just doesn't apply here; The guy is using "urban legend" terms to describe the truck.
He is omitting items or claiming ignorance on other items, like the bed. The back part of the stripe has been angled upward to match the end of the bumper, which has been "hooked" by something.
Again, You would have to have documentation on who did the lift kit.
Why did the truck not sell at $8000 with a no reserve auction? It's possible there was a deadbeat bidder, but there are also other possibilities...
If the price is right, and you are willing to put more money into it, then it's a possibility.
An ignorant seller is one of my biggest turn offs to a truck...400M and 79 F150 highboy. They throw out jargon they have no clue what it means, but know it applies to the era, then assume it makes their rig worth more. My take is it usually means they don't know jack about the truck, and is usually comparable to the way they wrench...although sometimes it means they don't know what they have. Beyond that...that's not an original bed, or the explorer emblem was added. The rocker stripe is tacky as hell. Looks to me like a good decent driver that was recently shot with paint. If you could get it for 4-4500, I say go for it...but not a penny more in my book.
I noticed a couple more things, There's 3 different colors on the steering column. And the temp gauge has scratches over it. I can't tell whats near the passenger side kick panel. Doug's right. It's a franken truck.
As the pet detective says, "Allllllllrightyyyyyy, then!"
