...turbine rims. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! They're a little rough, but by pure chance I swung in at a yard sale that I saw some sporting equipment and outdoor equipment. Low and behold I saw the turbines. $10 each.

They're 15x10 and yes they're the right hub hole size and bolt pattern. My plans were to have them sand/bead/media blasted to get the paint off. Any advice on which route would be better? Then sand them down. Any tips on a procedure? Then polish the lip and the 'turbines'...then paint between the fins black. Any tips or advice or changes to this process is appreciated.

That's a good price! Do you plan on painting them?

Ah, fail! :)

I'd look into powder coating them. I have a friend that had beautiful chrome wheels, but one got scuffed real bad. Instead of replacing the one, he had them sandblasted and then powder coated them black. They're on a black SUV. They look AWESOME!! He said the powder coating would last MUCH longer and stay brighter with less maintenance than simply having them painted. He also said it cost him $35 per wheel, but he knows alot of people, so I don't know what it might cost.

I haven't completely decided yet...I might just go with a full polish. If I did paint them, it would just between the fins.

Good call on the powder coat...I know of a big rig shop doing it for $25 a wheel.

My dad powdercoated EVERYTHING on the MG when he was restoring it. Wheels, valve covers, roll bar, etc. All the parts still look brand new, years later. Powder coating looks really nice.

Yeah...I totally forgot about powder coating and figured I was gonna do it all by hand. But I think I'll go powder coated if I decide I wanna do black highlights.

Nice find BenYelloThumbUp

Thank ya sir.

I'm game. Is the hub hole the same size for ford and dodge?

I'm not a fan of them...so I may sell them uber cheap or use them on a spare set of tires. Haven't decided yet.

hey we have a powder coating shop that does alot of work with the Powerblock series on Spike. http://www.powder-x.com/

they are just bout 2 miles away from my house. if ya wanted to send them this way and get em done real dam good Powder-X is your place.

Hmmmmmmm...bet shipping back and forth would be more expensive than the actual powdercoating. But thanks for the heads up.

Yes, they came off my buddys 88 F250 with a sterling 10.25...they are dirty and need to be blasted and refinished but they still look cool, i have to remember to take pics when it stops raining...:headbang:

Ben! I love the wheels! They are absolutely one of my favorite styles on trucks other than what you have on your red & white and I have on my 94.

Thanks Ryan...I appreciate it. We must have the same taste in rims. If Red hadn't had the Alcoa's...she woulda had turbines.

Anybody know what the correct style of lug nut for these rims are? I was planning on just going with a chrome/polished acorn style.
