stepside or flareside? ford or chevy? any old skoolers out there know what company built the first one?

ahh that is a very good question....since back in the day, 20s and earlier they where stake bed trucks, and stepsides.
The first styleside i can think would haft to be the econoline pickup trucks

or your early 60s

as far as chevy goes, i have no idea.
