Having brake problems? :)

Even when I'm driving all day, I tend to stop for food and fuel from time to time...

Speaking of wheels or wheel related topics. I had to replace a couple of wheels studs on my driver side rear hub and so I went to the local Napa and even looked up the application myself before I went to get the studs. They looked the studs up and gave me the two which had the same part number that I looked up and so I figured I'm good to go. Well, the old studs pounded out OK and when I went to replace with new, the new ones pretty much slid right in. So, I had to go with a different application stud. The stud I had to use was just a tap shorter then what was in the hubs, but works fine. Weird.

Yeah I had a similar problem with my rotors on the front of the 76. They kept givin me the wrong ones and as soon as id try to pound the studs in the rotor would crack. i went through two sets of brand new ones before they got me the right ones. They took the burn for the two broke sets so I had to pay for the oness that fit.

You're supposed to draw them in with a socket and breaker bar (or the like) not pound them in.

Pretty well all brake shops stock these studs as well if you aren't near a parts wholesaler.

I had 2 break off when driving in the mountains back in 94.

No prob.

On a different note, did we not just engage in a reverse hijack?

We took a useless thread and made it a tech thread...

I think we did

Is that like when you turn your wrist backwards?

I think it's more like a sex change

Hey ben, if you don't mind, i wann split that off. We need more tech threads and that'd make a decent one...

Sure...but it'll only be like 4 posts long...hahahaha.
