Well, been a busy person as of late. I have two jobs as of January. I work M-F 7:00-4:00 in my career as a Draftsman at a local granite quarry. Tuesdays and Thursdays, I teach evening drafting classes at the local community college (one i graduated from). i actually took my teacher's job. That extra paycheck is VERY nice for two days a week. So I thank the Lord for that oppurtunity. I also run a VERY small business on the side cleaning fishing rods and reels on the side as I am an avid bass fisherman. It definitely helps out for extra "whatever i wanna buy" cash lol.

The Ranger is doing well, just turned 80k and of course won TOTM here on FTF. Summer is here, so you all know I'll be posting my "Clean Pics" from my photoshoots for another forum's contest.

My wedding to my beautiful fiance is in less than 5 months (Aug 27th) at a local winery/vineyard. We are very excited seeing as we have been together since high school (7 years ago). She has become a nurse and works at a local nursing home. She has been told she is one of their best nurses and the residents love her:

On other news, my fiance has been driving the same car (97 Ford Escort) since high school as well and it was becoming not so dependable for her hour drive to work. So after getting some financial advice from our mortgage broker (we are also looking for houses), she said we were more than fine to go buy a car. SOOOOO we welcomed another Ford to the family. She bought a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL, White Platinum Tricoat, 3.0 V6, 240 HP. It has every option except for the slightly bigger 3.5 V6 and navigation. She has heated leather seats, sunroof, Microsoft SYNC, security system, power everything, etc...only 20k miles and got it for a great price at local Ford dealer at a very low interest rate. So we are VERY happy:

And the BEST news as of yesterday:

Some may know that we have been house shopping as well and have looked at quite a few houses. We finally bit the bullet and offered on a house down the road from my current residence and WON THE OFFER! We are now under contract on a modest 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Its a really nice house, not too big, not too small (only 1100 sq ft.) with an additional 1100 sq ft in basement space. We just got it put under contract yesterday and go tomorrow to sign the initial papers to get the loan process going. The appraisal is this coming up week and we hope that goes well too. If all goes as planned, we'll have it inspected and all that needs to be done and we are set to close May 31st.

It has 3/4 acres with another 3/4 acres beside it that is for sale by another company we could always buy in the future.

I just thought I'd share some of my joy with ya'll as we are both blessed and extremely excited about the way things are unfolding! I would have never thought that at 24 years old I'd be starting my life like this especially reflecting back on my rough childhood. I could not ask for a better life. Please pray that all continues to go well!

Great to hear all is going well for you man, I'm happy for you. If I were you, I'd move the date of the wedding up before she comes to her senses, just goofin, she's a real keeper. Will she be as meticulous with her ride as you? Those fusions are nice little cars, I'm sure she'll be happy with it.

As for the house, I thought you picked up a two story on a an acre and half with a creek running through it a few months back??????

And last but not least...care to divulge any info on the rod/reel cleaning biz you have going. The little bro is a big bass fisherman (does a lot of regional tournaments) and he's always looking for ways to make more cash. I promise he won't take any clients.

LOL funny man. As for that house, we went and had an actual look at it and LET ME TELL you. pics made it look nice but it was AWFUL. it had NOT been remodeled and was awful in person. The we are under contract on is a nice house and of newer construction (98'). love our choice.

As for the rod and reel cleaning business. All I do is take clients reels, take them apart, clean them, re-oil and re-grease them and put them back together and clean the fishing rods up nice and clean. For example. I had an order of 8 rods and reels this past week for an extra $100. took me about 6 hours total to finish them I cut him a deal though, should have been $160. I price the reels differently:

My Ad from CL said:
Reels

Open-Face Reel: $17 per reel
Baitcasting reel: $15 per reel
Spincasting reel: $12 per reel

Rods

3$ per Rod

Combos (rod and reel)

Open-face & Rod: $19 per combo

Baitcaster & Rod: $17 per combo

Spincast & Rod: $14 per combo

Extra Services:

Lining Reel: Price varies depending on line type
Replacing Parts: pay for parts +$3 labor
Saltwater reels require corrosion inhibitor: add $3

I then had business cards made at www.vistaprint.com. very cheap site to get personalized things. I got a box of 250 for $3.99!!

Congrats, Congrats, and Congrats. That looks like a very nice house. I paid for part of my college by building rods for wanna-be college fly fisherman. It became very hard to find decent cork for the handles.

Alright Scott...not trying to hound you on this, but I racked my brain on this all weekend...how in the hell do you get any customers????? Most fishermen I know are competent enough to rebuild and maintain their gear...I'm not, but I equate that to allowing someone else to clean and maintain my firearms. Not only that, who still has the money to pay someone else to maintain their hobby?????? I'm living in the wrong part of the state.
