It is a great explanation of why Racor made fule and oil filters are the only way to go. Never use WIX, Purolator and others!!!!

FYI - Racor does license their filters to Framm so they are OK, but I have found that buying oil filters (Framm or Motorcraft) at Walmart is the least expensive and fuel filters from your local Int'l truck dealer.

Many of us have known to use only Racor made filters... but this video does a great job of explaining and illustrating it!!!!

This same video or message would also apply to the 7.3L and 6.4L motors as they too use Racor made filters.

Good luck... and hopefully some of you will change out out your "fill-fit" filters later today before anything bad (if not already) happens!!!

With all due respect... why do you call it a sales pitch?

Yes, Ford wants to sell Motorcraft oil and fuel filters, but I think they have done a good job of documenting why some of the "will-fit" filters are not good to use?

The information this video talks about some of us have known since the early days of the 6.0L motor and from many different people's research. Heck, I got banned from the "other site" for caling out a NAPA store owner on how the WIX filters were not OEM spec'd and as far as I know... are still not. (WIX used to buy from Racor, but then started making their own and to get around the patent, they had to make some modifications which have proved harmful).

Sales pitch... yes... but I believe they have documented their point very well.

I agree 100%.

It's just that many do not know the differences like we do and truly believe that WIX and other brands are just as good, if not better, than what some of the car companies put their names on (and in some cases I agree with them). However, when dealing with the 6.0L, 7.3L and 6.4L PSD motors, Ford went with a quality manufacture for their oil and fuel filters and Racor made the housings for these filters a certain way that "will-fit" filters do not work well in.... that's the message I, Ford and others are trying to make.

Only those that read these forums would know that a fuel filter made by Racor (with the Auqabloc feature) really is better, different and patented versus the WIX fuel filters one can buy... and the WIX one's cost more to boot!!!

The purpose of the video and many of my posts is to educate and prove to people that there are differences and I think the video tries to validate their point with proof and pictures.

Have a great weekend.
