This came up in a general automotive discussion forum on my school's e-mail system...
A knowledgeable VW guy said the best solution to electrical gremlins on newer VWs was to disconnect the battery for 24 hours, to let all the computers/modules reset themselves.
I countered that that's all well and good unless there's actually a problem- broken/chafed wire, corroded connector, etc.- in which case disconnecting the battery won't solve anything.
His answer was "that doesn't happen on modern VWs"- all the problems are in the modules.
Comments?
