Like Jay Leno once said about gasoline prices...there is no price he wouldn't pay. I feel similar about bacon. As a matter of fact, curled some up last night.

A Lot of US Pork is raised in Alberta and sold in the US for less than we but it for.

We're pissed about that

Up here a Butcher shop had a sign in his window that said: Pork Chops $0.09 LB..........with meat on it $2.99 LB

if it ever gets too bad come on down here and i'll send you out back of our town to get your own bacon ...... yesterday one of my customers came in complaining about mobile wild bacon chomping up some of his newborn lambs - he is keen on getting some bacon hunters out to his farm to clear them out but unfortunately i've had to pass as too busy (never ever thought i'd pass up a chance to hunt but there you go).
Plus we are lucky that right next door to our house there is a company called havoc pork http://www.havocpork.co.nz/ and they have an outdoor smoker for curing the bacon ...... you have to smell it to believe it

It's hard Doug ...... due to an increasing girth i've had to cut back a little but i'm managing to convince myself that dry cured bacon has less fat content - now if i can convince my wife to believe that then more bacon will be on the menu lol.
