what transmissions will bolt up with a 4.0 v6 1998 ford explorer motor. want to install a 5 speed. the motor came with an automatic. i need to know what year models and engine size will work. am putting the engine in a 1997 ford ranger.

M5od-1... out of a 4.0 Ranger, it will work, but you'll have to get the correct computer and wiring harness or else you'll have a CK engine light on...
