Transmission swap

Has any one done a ZF 5speed in a 96 bronco where an automatic has been? I'm not worried about the mechanics of it,it's the computer that bothers me...I have searched and can't find a solution to the computer problems it would cause. Any one have any ideas?

When you do the swap, install a 400Ω (ohm) resistor between the GREY/RED and the LIGHT BLUE/YELLOW wires in the wiring harness that ran to the MLPS (Manual Lever Position Sensor) on the E4OD. This will "tell" the ECM (computer) that the truck is always in "DRIVE". You WANT this. This will allow full engine performance.

THe ECM won't necessarily "miss" the E4OD without the resistor in place. However, the LACK of information from the transmission electronics has the potential to impede engine performance and throw fault Codes.
