Transmission/Speed Sens. Codes

Pulled some codes this morning while I was fixing a squeak in the belt tensioner pully...

The reader spit out a 452 code and a 628 code...

The manual says something about a 452 being a speed sensor bad communication problem, and the 628 refers to clutch slippage. It occasionally goes into 'shifting hard' fits, and I think #628 may be DUE to 452 sending bad voltages.

Thoughts..?

Is the only speed sensor the one located on the rear differential?

29 452 Vehicle Speed Sensor Insufficient vehicle speed input. Powertrain control module detected a loss of vehicle speed signal during operation. Harsh engagements, firm shift feel, abnormal shift schedule, unexpected downshifts may occur at closed throttle, abnormal torque converter clutch operation or engages only at Wide Open Throttle. May flash transmission control indicator lamp. 62d 628d Transmission Transmission slippage detection. Excessive amount of clutch slippage was detected. Transmission slippage, erratic or no torque converter clutch operation. May flash transmission control indicator lamp.
Refer to Diagnosis by Symptom (footnote on (d) after code 628) May also be generated by other non-electronic related transmission hardware condition

Are there other speed sensors, or is the only one located on the differential? If there's only one, I'm going to throw a new sensor at it.

Well, I ordered a speed sensor. It should be here wednesday. I'll let you know if there are changes. It's so intermittant that I won't be able to tell for a long time. It will literally be bucking like a PBR bull and then I'll stop at a traffic signal, hit the throttle, and it'll shift as smooth as butter.
