tranny flush

today i went into the shop and flushed my tranny. drained the TC too.. installed new filter and gasket.. i must say, it makes a BIG difference, much smoother shifts now.

I used the Mercon V in it, really good stuff, yes it is compatible with Mercon III.. i reccomend switching to it.

Good deal. How much total did it cost for fluid and filter? I lost most my trans fluid when i pulled the TC off with the motor, so im looking to flush and shift kit it.

e4od? Isn't that supposed to be merc v?

The e4od was originally designed for merc/dex III, but then Ford discontinued III and said V would work just fine-- but a lot of guys complained of slipping e4od's after that because of the friction modifiers that are added to the V. Some guys have great luck with it, others dont.

i guess i'll find out.. mine seems fine..

and it cost me 20 bucks, only cause all i had to pay for was the filter and gasket
