i recently install a 460 on 78 f150. i tried to hand spin the torque conveter but it didnt move. so i wasnt able to tie down the rest of the nuts. so is the torque conveter spin freely when mount to engine?

once the trans is bolted to the motor the converter studs come through the flex plate if you lined them up to do so,what i ususaly do is reinstall the starter & hook up a remote starter switch, unplug the coil wire as a safety precaution & crank the engine to bring the studs around & tighten the converter bolts.if you dont have one use a socket & rathcet on the bottom crank pulley there is a bolt in the center of it.crank the way the motor would turn as if it was the starter.its not good practice to turn a motor in reverse.
