toploader interchange

Changing out the RAT-G2 3 speed for a 4 speed. What to look for in wide ratio small input transmissions? Bearing retainer size, overall legnth, and spline count.
Is there a particular extension housing that suits the shifter in a bench seat bump better than others?

a regular small input toploader out of like a 69 stang or torino type can be adapted to fit . you might have to be creative with the shifter and drive shafts might have the be made to fit but it can be done. I don't think there is a direct bolt in toploader swap. ive done a few back 20 years ago and remember making a shift leaver

It depends a lot on what engine you got.

Off hand I'd go with a T18 or NP435 those came in the Bumps.
