Amazing what videos are on YouTube....

The 3 F's of maintaining your 6.0L PSD (Fluids, Filters & Fuel)

Video #1:

Video #2:

Video #3:

Good, basic info for a long running truck. The only thing I disagree with is the addition of "Prolong" into the oil which the author of these videos recommends... personally, use only 100% API certified oil.

Enjoy...

I can't believe those engines are that picky...

I think it is called... well engineered to very tight tolerances!!!!

Int'l/Navistar Corp had a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon working on their development team!!!!

The gas mod motor are a very tight tolerance motor... but they aren't fussy at all... and they have been know to go 300k+ without a rebuild.

The times they are 'a changing. The requirements of more and more horsepower, with smaller sized engines, plus meet emissions, force manufacturers to cut tolerances closer and closer. Its so bad now, using too thick of oil can cause driveability issues. Its only going to get worse!

Wish I was smart enough to learn without going the painful route! :slap:

I just want to get my PSD fixed right and treat it right because I still believe it's not the piece of crud that some make it out to be. Everything mechanical has it's share of problems and I really do like my Super Duty!
