test drove the new ranger today

im working back at ford this week... i got to test the new rangers.. wow i was impressed with that duratorque engine!!

2.5 turbo diesel.. enough power to pull anything and speedy mofo's

i dont see any litte diesel truck in its class
that can compete with it

Yeah...I hate the little beds on compact CC trucks on principle, but honestly- with the cap and the stuff that just lives under it, I'd have more usable bed space with one of those right now AND more passenger space.

oh no worries. i do drive the crap out of them every day lolz.. the firstime i drove it i almost **** myself.. me with my foot on the floor.. saying what the heck is this slow crap.. then the turbo kicked in and i was like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA stop stop stop lol..

Is it more the governments standards, or the expense it would take for the manufacturers to meet those standards?

Both - the vehicles wouldn't be marketable or desirable at the price it would take to meet EPA, CAFE, etc.

Ok this officially pisses me way off....

If ford goes down then il laugh. Look at that truck! No one around here buys a ranger because of it only being an extended cab, no crew cabs. No one around here buys sport tracs because they are an explorer with a box and not an acuall truck.

That 2.5 sounds like its got a great amount of power and great gas mileage, which the sport trac has crap power and no gas mileage.

OPEN YOUR EYES FORD! STOP MAKING THE COOL CHIT OVER THE BOARDER! Whatever....
