Stereo feedback

Plugged the charger in on the Explorer and now I'm getting feedback through the stereo. What's causing it?

As in the charger is connected and you are listening to the stereo?

If so, it is because chargers don't give a clean DC output and that noise can be amplified through the system.

I moved the Explorer a couple weeks ago, never turned the ignition off.

Just curious as I've never had it happen before. Another thing to note is before the battery died the stereo wouldn't hold memory.

It's very common to get that kind of noise through a stereo...especially if the battery is very discharged like you are indicating.
