I use B&M trick shift in mine. It firms up shifts a little bit. Would that be compatible in the e4od?

Not sure Tony. But if it's a fluid that truly makes shifts harder, I'd be a little weary of using it. Sounds like they're probably sacrificing some of the lubricative properties to make it flow better. Is it more viscous than normal ATF?

right which means theres more friction, which i doubt would be very good for a tranny.

and if ur tranny uses Mercon III than it can use Mercon V

I can't see it being bad for tranny's. It's been around since the 60's and is used in alot of performance applications. I've ran it in every C-6 that I've had. I've just never had an e4od.

I see it isn't recommended for computer controlled trannys, so that answered that.

The merc III fluid (from what I've heard) has little-to-no friction modifiers in it. This is the difference between it and the merc V fluid-- merc V has added FM's. If the Trickshift has "modified friction modifiers" then I would have to assume the only thing they could have done was ADD FM's to the mix.

Friction modifiers REDUCE friction and allow parts to slip. FM's are used in limited slip differentials in order to prevent the clutch packs from locking up and locking the diff full time. Use too much FM and the clutch packs will just slip all the time and you'll have an OPEN differential.

This is the reason why I don't want no mercon V in my trans. Don't want it to slip. It's doing just fine with III, zero slippage. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've heard of it just never used it, but considering it's by B&M you'd think it'd be pretty good.

I used it back when it was only the additive, and had forgotten that they came out with their own brand of fluid!

Skan, i needed to flush mine, 40k on the fluid.. we had mercon v on tap and it was compatible with my tranny, so i used it.

Don't get smart...what do you think I meant?I have it in my truck and it helped the tranny a great deal......the reason i said i need to drop my pan is because the fluid evidently is not compatible with electronic trannies...whoops...I haven't had any problems yet and I know a guy that runs this stuff in his E4OD's.......
