Found a 78 Ford Bronco for 1500 original owner garage kept. very little rust. 351W in it.

Sounds like a pretty damn good deal...but the 351W would have been swapped in. 351M and the 400 are the only engines that came in that. Mine was $2400 with a pretty shot 351M and a couple rust bubbles popping up on the rear wheel wells. Got any questions just ask.

I was thinking it sounded good. Its an older gentleman that has it and has owned it since new, just getting tired of having it in the way and knows I am a truck nut. So he offered it to me.

yeah it wouldnt be a 351W. it would be a 351M or 400. either way sounds like a good deal.

It still wouldn't be bad if it had a 351W. The later Broncos had them. I snowplowed with an 88 with one in it and it was great.

Depending on the year 351W...it could have up to 45 more hp than a 351M when comparing stock to stock.

In high school I drove a 1971 Cougar with a 351W. That thing would liight up the tires and spin them all the way to 3rd gear.

Not from the factory.. There are 700++ cubic inch Fords based on the 385 series motors though (nothing close to stock though including the block).
