Solid Axle Swap

Considering a SAS on a 1984 F250.

Currently, TTB Front with "Leaf Springs" (Not Coil Springs)

Simple as finding a front 8 lug D44 and bolting it in?
Maybe swap pitman arms?
New leaf springs required? different width? Length?

Thoughts? Anyone done this one and have a write up on their experience?

TIA

The simple answer is there is no 8 lug Dana 44 that will bolt in. 79 and older spring pads are 32" apart. 80 and newer are 36". It can be done though. Research.

Sorry - Just getting back to looking at this... damn work gets in the way.

I'm not worried about having to move spring mounts, etc.. Just looking mainly to see if anyone has done this, what they ran into, etc.

Anyone know what the front WMS-WMS measurements are... mine is buried in the snow ATM.
Hell, if I need to swap out both axles, its not an issue really... just digging and thinking out loud.
