just thinking out loud here..

instead of removing a leaf and get too much drop.. how about shortening 1 leaf like 8 inches in the rear (longest side) and 4 in th front ( shortest side)

i dunno im just thinking out loud.. will it take away some strength and lower it some?? like 1 "

wheel hop is a concern so i recommend traction bars if this is done!

i found a cheap way to eliminate wheel hop on my 71 when it was a 2wd f100. i took a simple set of traction bars and put them on top of the springs and pionted them backwards. if the frame isnt coverd with snow ill see if i can get ya apic tomorrow

I don't think shortening a leaf will give you the desired results, and for 1" drop all you really need are drop shackles.
