Can someone help in decifering my vin # on my 79 f-250 4x4 the vin is (F26HRDG6735) & matches title. wheel base i know {133")color is either a (H OR M cant make it out on door tag)type is (266 which i think is F-250) Body is (AT4) not sure of that one,Trans is (K ) I assume either Atomatic or C-6 Auto.Axle is (37)not sure of that one,i do know it has the Dana type front & rear & from cruising speed at 55 tach reads about 2500 rpm so im thinking it has the 3.75 gear ratio that im glad of,have no need for taller gears.ok thats the door tag.
the blue sticker on cab post reads 10/78 which is a 79 i know that.on the left side of the tag starting from the top reads Front GAWR 3800 LBS,Below that is 172? cant make it out KG,Tire rim size air press self expl.Right side of tag again from the top 8400lbs= 3810 KG i assume its towing capability?,rear GAWR 5300 LBS,2404 with,then tire ,rim,air pres,self expl.below that is the vin already covered,.type is truck self expl,to the far right of the tag is like an upper half of a box the top # in the box reads FO 298,below it TO 870.at the bottom starting left to right is EXT below that says (body),PAINT below that is (VR) next is COLORS under that is (MLDG) nothing else is above the line but below it,again fowlowing after (MLDG) is( INT TRIM) space (AC) self expl. space (A)space(R) space (S)space (axle) then above the line is (DSO) under it (TR) at the bottom far right in very small print is-DSTA-1020472 A? S OR Z possibly. I appreciate the time it will take to do this but i would like to know as much as possible about it when it was new.I am putting a note book together with information & pics of progress.as of now the rig has the wimbolten white paint re paint dont know if that was the original color.it had a 351m w/C-6 to the best of my knowledge,i put a 460 /C-6 in it.the rig came from Ariz & i recieved the Ariz title. does any one know where i may purchase a replacement factory manual that came with the vehicle new?i did not recieve it when i purchased the truck.
