But I think you're looking more or less for you bumpside, correct? Personally, for me it would be worth it to just go ahead and buy the NOS instead the headache of fighting with the lamps. However, what exactly is your problem with your current lamps?
It describes your year of truck......bumpsides have a bump down the side and are also called the Gen5 truck......Gen 6 is called a dentside...since they have a dent down the side of em.
Might try pulling the lenses off and wetsanding them with a fine grit sandpaper, water and Dawn....I've found the dawn works wonders clearing up yellowed or funky lights.
^^^JR had you covered...bump/dentside just refers to the body line...67-72 have 'bumps' down the side and 73-79 have 'dents' down the side. Wetsanding would have been my next course of action as well. I'd probably start out at 1000 grit (maybe even 800) and work your way up.
thanks guys. Will try the 1000 grit and Dawn first. I know that Mother's has a kit to repair dulled headlight covers, but I like the cheaper idea of sandpaper and dawn...
Yea, we just used to use water...then one night, I grabbed a spray bottle with soapy water in it and used that instead......same exact process on the headlights, but you could tell which one was clearer....don't for get to give it a good wax buffing too.
