They call me Spuds
I know this doesn't fit the ten year old and newer but I'm going out on a limb for help...
This isn't truck related but it is a Ford, sorta...
I'm pretty close to having the major maintenance on the front of my '93 SHO done. Replaced a noisy idler (one off bearings are NOT fun to hunt down BTW) and now I've got what I guess would be a rattle from under the timing cover from what I can figure as it's about mid rear on the front of the engine. The PS pump and water pump are brand new units, the tensioner is tight and spins freely w/o any snags/binds, so that leaves me with the timing belt tensioner as I did replace it while I had the covers off. The tension all the way around the timing belt was tight and even, the old belt had about half inch of play, could replacing the timing belt have brought a worn out tensioner bearing to the point of it making noise; also, how does that tensioner work? I saw that it had, I'm guessing, a spring loaded plunger under it to keep the tension but that's about as far as I can figure with my limited knowledge.
Thanks in advance...
