Ranger blend door question

Is there a procedure to check the blend door on these rigs to ensure that it's fully closing in the cold position? On moderate days, days when A/C isn't really needed, I seem to be getting some warm air (vent position in particular), definitely warmer than outside air, and it's not because I parked out in the sun for two hours, came back and drove away, it's like noticeable plenty of time after that (30 minutes for example). Other than that, the temp control works fine, providing a range of temps as expected. And FWIW and it's really not related to the concern, the cutoff valve in the coolant line leading to the heater core is working properly. Thanks.

I've been finding blend door actuators bad quite frequently.

So think actuator and NOT the classic blend door issue from the mid to late 90's (ie, broken hinge/arm)?

I don't remember where it's located in a ranger with out looking but if you can access is turn the knob from hot to cold and watch it turn you should see it go smooth. You can also pull it out and work the door by hand to make sure it closes all the way.

Thanks guys, I'll have to get in there and have a lookie. I'm suspecting it's behind the glove box and therefore pretty easy to get to. Reps to those for helping :D

Always think the cheapest fix first!

I'd be happy as a clam if it were under $75.
