pointless question about replies/views

why does it show two different numbers in two different places?

pretty often in the control panel a thread will say "2/0" (which doesn't make sense)
but then on the actual forum page where the thread is listed it will say "2/4"

is one cached up? what's the difference? just curious.

are you talking about the threads/posts column?

Ryan

Sounds like one is reversed from the other, doesn't it? Ryan, any ideas?

nope, the replies/views

threads/posts is on the forum section listing page

i'm talking about in a specific forum, the thread listings ...that replies/views vs the user cp set of replies/views

I am guessing here, because I'm no expert...

VBulletin is an interactive program that runs on our server. It's very much 'alive' at any given point. I believe that the software is designed to update those numbers every so often, but not instantaneously. So it'll 'cycle' through everything and add up the hits.

makes sense "cached up" is the dorky term i guess. caches the views...at least on new threads.

spot checking, it looks like threads more than a couple hours old agree on both the user cp and the forum page, but newer threads are off.

obviously doesn't matter - am i the only one that notices?
