Well...first the price is a little high as is...much less wanting more for it...but it is a pretty good lookin truck, and would go for $3-3500 in my area. Next I would venture to say that it really is a XLT...although I'd like to see carpet in it...but the floor boards look great. Next...pretty sure a '79 would have had 2 gas doors and not a door and a cap...so that raises questions to me on where the bed came from and why...especially if it really is an 80,000 mile truck...which I suspect is more like 180,000. But the inside of the bed looooooks really good. The engine bay looks reeeeeally good with no witness marks from leaking fluids. Lastly...and this is purely nitpicking...the speedo is a 100mph speedo, and 79 had 85mph speedos...no big deal and I would prefer the 100mph'er...but it's been swapped. However, I'd want a ton more pics of the underside of the vehicle to check for rust and leak witness marks.

But all in all...it looks like a good solid truck, in my area it would probably go for $3k...in the rustbelt...I could see it hitting $5k to the right buyer.

Gas cap - Didn't notice that.
Speedo - Something I didn't know, but was asked at bottom of page.
if it was changed than true mileage would be unknown.

Unless whovever put it in there turned the numbers to what the old one said.
Which is a possibility, but leaves alot of room for shadyness.

The plates are from Washington, the seller is from Michigan. And a $2000.00 deposit seems high to me. these are the things that i noticed and was curious what everyone else thought. I'm not bashing the guy or anything, with ebay I'm very skeptical from a few past buys thats all.

To tell you the truth, I know nothing about that particular seller. The different license plate wouldn't have even crossed my mind. I've had really good luck on ebay (except for one shill seller)...so I wouldn't worry about it.

I have the same gas cap on my 79, it was an added aftermarket tank and as was pointed out to me on my truck, the mirrors don't look like 79 mirrors..(I could be wrong about that one...maybe Mil1ion can comment)

Mirrors are correct

An aux dealer installed fuel tank (second thought ?) would have an exterior cap because the dealership body shop wouldn't bother making it look assembly plant installed.

I would love to see the original build sheet.

It looks to be a pretty solid truck from the pics. I'd also like to see more of the underside and pics of the door rating plate/VIN. But, when bidding online on these so-called rust free and solid body trucks, or low mileage all original trucks, it's a gamble either way. The best thing is to be able to see in person before buying, but if not possible, I'd email the seller and request tons of pics.
