I have a battery drain in my 84 and I've isolated it I think to the circut that powers the engine control unit. Everythig tests out ok otherwise but when I connect the battery, the relay to the ECU keeps making noise. I know that there should be constant power to the ECU and should be minimal when the truck is not running. However, It seems to be getting full power all the time. From what I have read in my books, the relay has some kind of time delay in it and it's part mechanical and part electronic. I popped the cover off to look inside it and it looks ok but smelled bad like something burnt.
Am I possably on the right track?
Oh....It looks like this Saturday will be the day to fix the spring hangers!
