I had to ingratiate myself today. I had to ask one of the oil change gremlins how to open the hood on a Transit Connect! The damned thing, you flip the "Ford" emblem up, then you use the ignition key to open it!

Hey I resembled that remark, I used to be one of those "gremlins" as you put it.... :D

Is that specific to the transit, or does that work for other models?

For the time being I believe it to only be on the Transits, being that its a European designed vehicle that Ford decided to bring over here... The key itself is more like an old skeleton key than that of your typical auto key.

That would have thrown me for a loop also.

Mine was when I went to change the oil on a 97 light duty F250 and I couldn't find the oil filter. I felt better when a friend couldn't find it either.
rode out to the dealership and they said look in the front left bumper. I was like come on really were is it. Who in the heck mounts a oil filter in a bumper, Ford does cause there it was.
