I need instructions on a heater core install 03 F350 V10.

My father in laws heater core is bad in his truck. he asked me if I could help him change it. What that really means is can I do it for him. i don't mind doing it. I just need instructions.

Thanks in advance

I'm in the middle of doing a writeup for this actually as I just did this replacement last week myself on my 99 5.4L Crewcab.
One suggestion that will make your life MUCH EASIER!!! If you have a small electric jigsaw you can cut the aluminum lines on the heater core (after draining the system) and push those through the firewall which makes gaining access to those annoying clips on the other side ALLOT easier.
My father had one when he did his replacement and it was a breeze. I wasn't lucky enough to have one handy so I just broke a small metal saw blade in half, wrapped a towel around one end and sawed them by hand (space is very limited). The pipes are thin and easy to cut through but if you have big hands like me expect a few scrapes haha. Feel free to PM me with any questions, I have allot of pictures too. I will try and get this writeup done as soon as possible in case it may be of any help to you :)

Well I got it changed today. i did cut the tubes. I also lost 2 oring and the plastic spacer. I went to the local dealership to buy them. Of course they didn't have it. I talked to the tech and they told me to cut the hose and install hose clamps. that worked great. I did have to chane one heater hose.

No leaks and it blows hot air.

I hope those were'nt lost because of my suggestion...??? I should have warned of those litle buggers but mine came out in place without a hassle so I didn't think twice about them.

I'm glad you got yours all done up just sorry I couldn't get that writeup out for you in time. Taxes, work, school, and family all seem to be assaulting me at once right now :(
Congrats on the heater core install!!!

PS: did you replace the linig on the edge of the heater core case? If it was old and dry replacing that as well as the lining on the cover helps to contain the air flow and direct it out your vents (more heating power for you!)
