Need input- putting interior back together

Putting the door trim and such back together in my sons 79 F150; want to keep it original but at the same time add a few modern thoughts to it,, such as inside the doors before I put the panels back I was going to insulate the inside a bit to keep sound down and got to wondering (as I don't want to take it apart again) should I put just a little between the door panel and the door to keep down potential rattles and vibration when done- anybody tried it? Good idea / bad idea / got a better one? Thanks!

You can buy stick on sound deadening material to put on the steel inside the door itself. Or you can spray rubberized under coating in it.

The door panels had a cotton mat material glued to it from the factory to deaden some sound. Looks like carpet pad before they went to recycled foam.

I was thinking that there was something behind it, that is where I got the idea but just could not remember. I was thinking about the thin foil back insulation (or the same in duct insulation) so it would not start flaking off in time and because it is easily shaped more importantly it is cheap (especially compared to the carpet and insulation kits I have been seeing on LMC and such)
