A cap and rotor with brass terminals is never a waste of money. Even if it`s the only thing you do.

Yep same setup as I have...

Don't forget to gap your plugs around .55 to help throw that spark and be worth the upgrade!!

What plugs are you running ? I am running Autolite Copper/Spark Plug # 25
Just curious, I have had good luck with autolites.

Stock stuff comes with aluminum terminals, high end (Borg/Warner Select, Accel, MSD), all have brass terminals. Stock replacement stuff comes with aluminum terminals. The OE guys and the general aftermarket parts are just meant to be adequate for the majority of the public and keep costs down.

From a performance aspect(performance also meaning, is this going to last longer), brass terminal caps seem to hold up better. It`s the same the same reasoning that convinces us to buy spiral wrapped wires versus suppression wires.

Placed my order with Amazon this a.m/ Best price I found for the MSD 8482 CAP AND ROTOR ! Cant wait to get it all installed off to work I go 17 hour shift tonite. Yuck

Got everything installed, Sweet is all I can say, much better acceleration, " smoother' Now my next project is the 3 g alternator upgrade, I just don't figure the math correct I guess, I dont see the need for such a large 1 or 2 guage charging cable seems overkill to me.

The ratings of #1 and #2 conductors are 145A and 130A respectively....although free air ratings are higher, derating comes into play in high ambient temps...like under a vehicle hood.
So with a 3G 130A alternator, you are right on the money with those sizes.
