Lost Boost With A Bang

I Have A 05 With A 6.0 Was Pulling Hard On A Slight Incline And Heard A Loud Noise,sounded Like The Transmission Blew!! Lost All Power,no Boost,smokes Like A Mack!! Has Been Acting Slugish For A Few Days When Starting Off Then Full Power?? Help!!

Check your cold air charge (CAC) tubes. When those rupture or come loose, it sounds like a shotgun going off, and all power leaves.

thanks for the clue,did that,alls well,dropped the exaust of the turbo,cant feel inside,but looked in with a mirror,looks like everyones home!! thought it might have blown? but not sure now?? any other ideas?

Pull your egr valve and either replace it or clean the bottom half (dont get anything in the little holes in the electronic half).

You have a boost leak in either the CAC tubes, Intercooler or turbo itself. Pressure test all the CAC tubes and intercooler.

Also if you have access to a scanner pull the codes and post them.

thanks for the info,already found the problem,intercooler blew off one side!! just installed a hi performance all alum one,from amazon,$600.00 delivered!! overnight,the price seemed good to me? any comments?? seemed the way to go? wasnt going stock again!looks rugged,works fine,problem solved!! Glad to hear you found the problem. Ocassionally the intercoolers fail instead of one of the CAC tubes.
I would now definitely check what kind of boost you are pushing.

Also what mods have been done to the truck, that has a large bearing on overall reliabiltity and helps us recommend other things you may want to look into to prevent future problems.
I see you did the EGR delete, did you install a new oil cooler at the same time? Have you replaced or changed the headbolts, installed a coolant filter?
