Licence plate ID Lights

I only have one in my bumper and the guts of it are missing. I have gone around to all the trucks and a bronco that are 77-79 that i know of and none of them have the same ones as are in mine. How many different types of these are there and where can i find a set to fit mine

Unless you're looking for NOS, most parts stores sell push-in type lights. The metal fingers compress to go through the hole, then expand to stay in place. There are also some that use a nut on the backside of the light.

^^^That's what I used on the Bronco, they had the prongs. A snip, some electrical tape, a connector and about 5 minutes and mine were done.

Note...yes I know some of you are going to cringe when you read my procedure.

Do a web search for Dennis Carpenter. They have accurate replacements in their catalogue. They might even have some NOS lights. DO NOT do what I did and order the license plate lights from LMC. They rusted inside of a year of when I put them on, and I don't even drive my truck in the winter. Not good quality at all.

I know I've told that story on hear before, but it still grinds my gears!

Ford sold the lamp either as an assembly, or just the lens/bezel. There are two types of lens/bezels: Chrome & Painted.

If chrome, these parts are obsolete, but can be found by the dozens...NOS.

In fact, just recently someone here on FTF posted a link to a pair on fleabay (seller wanted 80 bucks for the pair).

I then listed the part number, the MSRP (it was circa 30 bucks each-cheaper than the seller wanted) & dealer cost prices for the entire lamp and the sources that have them NOS.

I'd rather not have to do that again.

I did not list the sources for the lens/bezel (D3AZ-13564-A), which is the same as 1973/78 LTD/Merc Marquis station wagons. 137 are still available from FoMoCo Dealers, obsolete parts vendors.

Here are the two sources with the largest quantity. If y'all want more sources, list the city/state you live in.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL in Farmers Branch TX has 37 = 888-727-0418.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 62 = 800-543-4959.

The entire lamp (D3TZ-13550-A) is 1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco only. As I recall, 10 were still available.
