Ladder bar?

I was watching a show were they took out the old leaf springs and installed a universal ladder bar on a old Dodge truck, I really liked the idea has any one done this to their dent?

Seems like I remember seeing that show too. Looked like it worked out pretty good for them.

Yeah, give it a much smoother ride and handling, I know some guys have done it to their big mud trucks but my truck is a street cruiser

I was looking at a kit that used the factory front mount and a cross member to make a four link like what the Mustangs a T-Birds ran. I can't find the site now but it looked great. I think Trucks on Spike did something with one of them.

No they just control axle wrap and hop and give ya more traction.

FT the ones I saw had coil-overs. If I was to do that on my 2wd I would do an airbag deal and run it like a rig with a level valve.

Yea the air ride that thing would riiiiide like a cloud and handle friggin great....that's conventional ladder bars...what does that have to do with pulling out the leaf springs?

The kit he was talking about replaced the leaf spring with ladder bars and used the forward spring mount for the ladder bar mount.

Leaf springs are for carrying loads not handling

How do you replace springs with ladder bars? Ladder bars are for preventing axle wrap-- they're not for supporting weight... I don't even know HOW they could support weight... The kit on Summit that Tex posted also has coilovers which I'm assuming are what you use for the suspension.

Its a common street truck mod, and if you don't know how its done then google it.

What do you do with your truck? haul raw timber? maybe concert slabs?
A trophy truck is a jacked up 4x4 that never sees dirt only asphalt?
So unless your working your truck, its a Trophy truck...
