installing and using a new VCM (IDS)

me and a friend bought one of these to use in car diagnostics.. now im getting the Cd and hardware and try to install it

do i need any special activation code? or something like that?? thanks!

Nope! Problem is, the software you have there is roughly 2 years old. To get updates, you need to be a Ford dealer, and pay the $300 per year fee to register the vcm. What kind of laptop do you have? It will only work with a few of them.

i dunno if thats the one, thats just a pic from google.. im gonna pick it up now and try to install it on my desktop.

butwe can use it? but dont get the updates ?

we haven't bought a laptop yet on wich ones will it work?

The information on that cd is all you get. No Ford dealer......no updates.

We use a panasonic toughbook with touch screen. You can use a pc but you have to have the vehicle next to it.
