I sold my '97 5.0 Ranger. I sorta miss it, but kinda don't at the same time. I'm thinking my next trick may be to swap a Vortec or LT1 into a late 90's S10. I know it's a common swap, but it would be a new learning experience for me.

Oh no, Ford is by far my favorite brand. Next spring I might buy my Dad's 5.0 Explorer. I have a D44 from a '75 F100 (welded on C's) and some disc brakes to swap on it just sitting in the garage. You can see where this is going...

Yeah, that would be awesome!

I'm hoping to find something wrecked with a 7.4 and swap that into our '96 Suburban, then put the 5.7 from the Suburban into an S10.

Uncle Sam bought a bunch of the 8.1/Allison trucks from GM. Keep an eye on the Government Liquidators website. Trucks go for cheap on there.
