Well fellas...I got everything back on the Bronco. I started it, checked for leaks, there was a minor dribble that I noted. Turned it off to let the compression really show any leaks. I tightend up what needed to be tightened and then went to turn the key again. What did I hear, grind grind grind grind grind. Instantly I knew it was the starter:
WTF caused that. Checked the flexplate, looked to be ok. Is there anything else I should inspect? And what on earth would cause a seemingly fine starter to sheer gears and break the housing?
