How do Ranger emblems sound?

I've been toying with this idea for awhile,and I like it alot.Even though my truck isn't a Lariat,I still think these would look pretty cool on the truck.I think the red would go along with my center caps,and provide a good looking contrast to the brown paint.What do ya'll think?I couldn't find a pic of one from an 80-86,but I found this one from a 79.For those who don't know the Lariat emblem below goes on the cab right behind the door on both sides.If you need an idea of what they look like on the cab,Cody's (CDF302V8) truck has them.

Phew...I thought you meant put dent emblems on your truck. But if you mean the era specific badges...I guess whatever floats your boat. I always like to keep the truck as true as possible but that's just me.

LOL,Nah,I'm putting period correct emblems on.lol.There's no way I could put emblems on my cowl.lol.And I'm kinda making the truck what I wish Ford had made from factory,but the catch is,i'm using all Factory Ford parts from the same era truck for example,my 92-96 wheels,and 87-91 cowl panel.So in a way i'm keeping it true by only using Ford Factory parts.lol.

the emblems sound like a perty good idea...heck the way i look at it...if u dont plan to sell or show it...customize it to fit your taste...ive toyed around will taking off my xlt badges ,leaving the f150 and replacing the xlt batges with a shelby cobray emblem to the right of my f150 badges

Yea,I don't intend to ever sell the truck.I might show the truck once it's finished.Not alot of people in my town would know the difference between a Lariat and a Custom anyway,and most would just assume that an F100 Custom Lariat was a factory option.lol.As long as I don't take it to the F100 nationals,I should be fine.lol.

Exactly.There's a guy around here that shows an 8th gen,but the paint on it just sucks,and it's not really anything special,it's just a regular F150 Supercab shortbed 4x4.

JR,I hate hood ornaments,so that's a no go.The local NPD had an 8th gen in the showroom with one on it,it looked like crap on the truck.

Not really,It's more of a curvy box.lol.Basically,the 7th gen is more aerodynamic than an 8th gen.The front of the 8th gen is like a brick wall.

Well if you look at my truck,the headlight bezels start to turn right next to the grille,instead of being straight.On the 8th gens,the headlights just all of a sudden turn off.What i'm tryin to say is I think the 7th gens provide a smoother transition for air around the corners than the 8th gens.

if you were to stand off to the side and look at the grille from the side...u could definately tell the gen 7 has a convex curve to the front ent but the gen 8s are like....flat

Exactly my point.I think I like 7th gens more than 8th gens because of that fact.

Gotcha...so you were referring to the curvature of the grille. I thought you meant overall radii of the front clip.
