OK FTF man swoop in and give me a hand.
You say I am over carbed but the guy at Jegs say a 600 is fine so does the joker at the local speed shop..

But I have a feeling I trust your work more then theirs, so what size carb would you recommend for a mostly stock 302?

That's tough Tex, I didn't realize you only had a 600cfm carb, which should be fine...I figured your max rpm is probably around 5500x302/3456=480 cfm. But that's just a guage...so I figure if you are jetted down like you say, you should be fine. Do you remember what size jets you originally had and what size you have now? I remember that you said you had your timing a little further advanced than recommended...maybe drop that back into spec and then retune the carb.

Tried that all ready turn the timing down to specs re tuned the carb using a gauge, and she had No power I mean nothing...
So I jacked the timing up to like 25 to 30 and she has plenty of power.
When I got the carb it had 60's as of right now I think i'm down to 35s or 40s I cant remember 100% right now. you should have seen it with the 60s looked like a oil burner.
As for Vac leaks i've tried to all starting fluid propane praying you name it all the old school way of finding leaks.

i really dnt think my 600 is entirely too big for my 351...i mean yeah its nt the best for lower rpm's but it is great when i put my foot in it...i dont want somethin to small...i mean damn...it's my daily driver...yeah i dont break 65 much goin place...but when sum1 gets a big mouth i shut it ...im not great off the line..but once i hit 35 n punch it im gone

Tex, over time, the ring on the balancer can slip and the timing marks may not be true. Using a degree wheel and timing tape, I saw one once that read 28* wrong.

It may still need jetted down some more. I missed the thread where all of this was going on. Can you point me in the right direction so I can read up on it some?

This is the thread :)
That's pretty much the some of it, nothing I do I can not get the carb to learn out its rich no matter how I tune it, I have some 20 jets but never got around to trying them.
