help me on my 1973 f-250...

hi guys its been awhile but right before i graduated from high school in june i got a 1973 f250 thats needs a little of everything inside and outside. i got the truck for free the old owner was scrapping it so i decided to take it on as a project for after high school and boy is it one! as of right now im looking for interior items such as door panels, carpet kit, headliner, lap seat belts, basically everything but a bench seat. can anyone sorta point me in the direction i need to go? ive already checked the local wrecking yards in my area and trucks this old arent around anymore soo ive been told.

all the way up to 79 most things interchange. www.jcwhitney.com/ is a good place for cheap parts of ok quality if you just want to get it on the road.

i've never heard anything bad about lmc, but it all depends what you are doing with this truck. are you restoring it, or just trying to get it in legal driving reliable condition? seat belts can be had from any truck in a junkyard. have you looked at your local craigslist? there is almost always someone parting out a 70's ford everywhere in the u.s. parts are around, you just have to search.

i want to restore the truck. besides Jc whitney where else would you go to look up things for these years of trucks? i'll try craigslist i never even thought of that til now

i've never bought any interior stuff from them, but www.BroncoGraveyard.com has a decent selection of stuff. and that's about all i've got. never been too concerned with interiors and looks. my bronco barely has a dash.

i would try some older bone yards for parts places in small out of the way towns. i have found awsome parts in places like that and they are usually cheaper

I've bought from Dennis Carpenter, Broncograveyard, Auto Krafters, National Parts Depot, LMC truck, and Blue Oval Truck Parts. Also, check out Mikes Truck Salvage and Macs auto parts. You'll find many OEM or NOS parts from Dennis Carpenter, but the others get some of their parts from them. LMC is good for little things, but I wouldn't get any body panels from them, otherwise I've had good luck with them for some of the things I've got. Dennis Carpenter and Broncograveyard has been my favorite during my restore. Don't forget Ebay also.

I'd also suggest a FTF member Mi1ion (Dennis). He has a stock of used parts. It all depends on what you need.

My experience with junk yards around here (N E Ohio) is that most of them scraped the old trucks a couple years ago when metal prices were high. Last year I stumbled upon a collector/junk guy while riding my bike. He has 15-18 trucks sitting around that he will not scrap. I have spent 7-8 hours at his place pulling parts for my truck. Keep you eyes open, you never know what you will come across. Personally I prefer replacing stuff with used OEM parts when possible.

You never mentioned what colour interior that 73 has.

the color of the interior is brown as of right now but i'd want to lean more towards going with a black interior with holly red color on the outside. but as of now i juss want to get her fired up and drive the beast around town

Holly is green

Holly berries are red

Start driving around and have a look a whats in yards, a 2wd and 4wd interior pars are the same. I have scored whole older trucks for cheeper than buying parts. Nice year of truck F250's and 350's rock.smilieFordlogo
