Government Motors vs Free Market Ford

Government Motors vs Free Market Ford

A picture is worth a thousand words. Here are several that tell the $82 billion auto bailout story a whole lot better than the Barack Obama Administration has.

We have been told ad nauseum that the auto bailout was unavoidable - irrevocably necessary. That without it, the entire American auto industry would collapse in a heap.

Well, Ford demurred - they refused to take a government dime.

So let us compare and contrast $50 Billion-Bailed-Out General Motors and Bailout-Free Ford. And see what our $42 billion auto bailout loss (and counting) actually got us.

Very well done! They should have gone through a structured bankruptcy WITHOUT the bailout first. Remember, they eventually went through bankruptcy anyway? :) I do.

I am floored why anybody would continue to buy anything from GM.

The reader comments make very interesting reading...... nothing will change unfortunately unless there is a major bureaucratic restrucure in government makeup.
If the current government policy of bailouts is continued then a boycott of buying gm products is only going to lead to more cash bailouts and even more hidden bailouts disguised as fleet purchases by different govt departments.
