Fuel problem!

So I have a 91 f250 with the 5.8 and an E40D. If I drive the truck long enough for it to get nice and warm then turn it off, it is a pain to get back running. The truck runs perfect when it's on, no sputtering or anything. It does act like it wants to fall on it's face when taking off from a dead start every now and then. When I turn off the switch I can still hear a humming under the hood and smell gas. The guy I bought it from said he changed the front tank pump. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

You need to locate where the smell of gas is coming from bit this sounds like a bad fuel pump to me.
