Not sure if I've got a photo of the probe. I'll take one when I get home :) It's on the driver side of the trans near the MLPS.

also heard not to wrap tape around the threads - they rely on the threads for a ground or something. again, i have no idea, just remember reading it

any reason you're not getting a 3-gauge pod?

the price difference isn't that much. i've got what you are getting and a coolant temp

Cuz they don't look as good. smilietease

Ok, just to give you fair warning, I originally got an electrical oil pressure gauge and the sending unit it uses wouldn't thread into the block without interference. I attempted to find an extension with no luck, I'm sure if you tried harder you could find one. I'm not even 100% sure if it's still an issue with the 351. Just puttin' that out there. Not to mention mechanical's are more accurate.

If you didn't want to go mechanical because you've got to run the line into the cab, don't worry, I was originally the same way but after doing it it was no biggie.

thanks skan.. and tom for the pics

they dont make 3 guage pods.. for 1987 -1991 generation... dunno why..

i dont think the 92-96 generation will fit..

and i have my rpm here so there isnt any room for a 3 guage pod and y prefer a 2 gauge pod....

here is my rpm the pod is going a bit higher and it will look just fine :) since y already have my water temp guage nex to the overdrive button

...still in the box. i've seen someone use them on a 460 before, so i assume its do-able

Huh? What's that supposed to mean? I'm trying to make sure the guy doesn't waste his money on something that won't work out of the box.. At least that's the problem I had. The 302/351 are fairly similiar in dimensions, as well. I have no clue about the 460 but I'm almost positive I told you the same thing on the other site, just so you knew. But you didn't want to run the line into the cab? Dunno why.. When are you planning on installing those gauges anywho?

it was nothing against you (or anybody)
just seen about 40 different threads when doing my own research on this turn into electrical vs mechanical. i was wondering if he was preventing that, or did he really did change his mind.

i need to install them. right after i got them, i was looking at buying a different, but similar truck. i didn't want to install them in mine, then sell it a month later. i'm keeping mine, but it's been cold the last several months obviously. if i didn't have to be outside, i wasn't. i've got a few busy weekends coming up, but hopefully in a month or two i can get it done.
