Finally cleaned my engine... sorta...

Well I went out to take a picture of an engine part and realized "hey I've got a bottle of simple green that I bought for the rust project! Why not spray down the engine?!"

So I coated the thing, used about half the bottle and let it sit for a while, then hosed all off. Repeated that a few times and here's the result... Still doesn't look GREAT but it's a bit better. I reckon I'll have to put in some manual labor if I really wanna make it look good.

Polished up the lettering on the plenum a bit with some steel wool. Used the efan to dry everything

The part that's really draggin me down and making the truck look terrible are those old hoses... I'd love to replace them but damnit they're not creating any problems so I just can't warrant spending the money/time on it yet.

if you change it because it looks bad. Your just going to warrant problems. check your vaccum lines. I had one that looked visibly good, but it was bad.

The reason its sarcastic is...my truck has been that clean before and one trip down to my house and it looks dirty again.

You'd be hard pressed to make me part with this truck. I don't think I'd let go of it for much less than $9-10k, regardless of what it's worth.

buy mine mine has a less than 40 K rebuild tranny and an 265+++ on the engine.. wich runs gr8 btw and faster than chris's truck and has /--\ front tires i mean what more can you ask for? lol!! hahaha

lol...you know how when you get in the truck. Whereever your setting at the truck leans. well i have a week spring on the passenger front. So when i get into the truck. it looks level...LOL

i bought mine for 6k in 06. And i got offered 10k about a month ago. I asked if the guy was smoking crack and walked away...if i was buying the truck, not knowing what kind of crap i put it through...i wouldnt pay anymore than 2k.
