Has anyone here bolted a AOD Trans behind a 360/390 engine or know someone who has?

I've heard of allot of people who have done it before, and I know where you can get the AOD trannys and or adapter plates.

I searched the the forum here and there were no links. I have 3.00 rear gear in my truck so with a AOD I can boost my gas mileage

Be warned they ain't cheap Cliff, But I know some body on ftf is really handy with metal work *CoughCommie* Err Doc.
Maybe just maybe he could fab you one for cheaper ?

If its in good shape or a reman I'd say go for it Cliff.
You wont be working will you? like pulling stumps and doing block long burn outs?
Our old 86 had a AOD in it and it has to be pushing nearly a Million miles, when we sold the truck it had turned over twice and the guy we sold it to still drives it every day and we sold it to him 13 years ago.

The engine will be rebuilt later if I find out it's a 390.

I'd say go for it CLiff when I rebuild my truck i'm going to drop in a AOD behind a 400m.

I will. after I get it on the road again. Still working on the brakes. I'm slow but I will get it done.
