Wow, where do you start! Amazing the machinery to build the cars! Seeing the quality control and putting the wheel lug nuts on by hand was cool. Tough work for those assembly guys, a lot of repetition.
Wow - great to watch and they make it look like an art form ..... just watching those guys shuffling backwards along the assembly line like that would be enough to give a present day health and safety chap a heart attack.
Wow....very cool to watch.....I was thinking today, the use of air tools took away a lot of the hand cranking and doing things by hand......I've toured the Ford factory in Dearborn, MI and the workers don't even bend down any more (union benefit, eh?) as they sit in these electric/hydraulic chairs that swivel in and out of the vehicle and they never have to bend once except to get in the little egg like chair. Pretty wild.
What's amazing is to think about the engineering effort to build the plant in the first place. Imagine doing that back then without the computer aids and 3D software.
